Accessibility

Introduction

This page is intended to guide you in using the site.

The Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) defines web accessibility as follows :

Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can use the Web. Specifically, that they can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the Web, and that they can contribute to the Web. Web accessibility also benefits others, including older adults whose abilities change with age.
Web accessibility includes all disabilities that affect access to the Web, including visual, hearing, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities. See the introduction de la WAI.

Site organization

Navigation

The site is structured into 6 main sections, accessible from the main navigation menu:

Other navigation systems

  • a site map accessible via a link located at the bottom of the page;
  • a search engine placed at the top of the page;
  • a breadcrumb trail placed directly under the main menu shows you where you are and the path taken to get to the page where you are.

Navigation by titles

  • Level 1 heading is the title of the page.
  • Level 2 headings and above are the paragraph headings on the page being viewed.

Most assistive technologies and browsers make it easy to navigate by headings. Most screen readers provide a feature to jump to the next heading.

  • On Internet Explorer, go to the View > Text Size menu and choose the desired size.
  • On Firefox or Netscape, press the Ctrl and + keys simultaneously to enlarge and Ctrl and – to decrease.
  • On Opera, press the + or – keys on the numeric keypad, or go to the View > Zoom menu and choose the desired size.
